This page explains how users of the LingoMate app can request that their personal data be deleted, including requests that do not require deleting the entire account when only some data should be removed.
How to request deletion
- Email us from the same address linked to your LingoMate account: hello@lingomate.site.
- Use the subject line: LingoMate data deletion request.
- In the message, include your account email and which specific data to remove (for example People chat history or profile fields). For full account closure, use the delete account page instead.
- We will confirm and process eligible requests. Typical turnaround is within 30 days.
What you can delete yourself in the app
- Local Lingo AI chat history — clear chat from settings (language/level chip → clear chat). This removes on-device practice history for that thread without deleting your account.
Data we delete on request
When you request full account or data deletion, we delete or anonymize:
- Account authentication data (email/password account)
- People profile (name, birth date, country, languages, intro)
- People chat messages associated with your account
- Match queue entries, blocks you created, and related report records where feasible
- Push notification device tokens
- Plus / entitlement flags stored for your account
Data that may be kept
- Limited safety records — for example report metadata needed to prevent abuse, kept only as long as reasonably necessary (typically up to 90 days, longer if required for an ongoing investigation or legal obligation).
- Legal / accounting records — if required by law (for example purchase records when billing is enabled).
- Aggregated analytics — data that no longer identifies you.
- On-device leftovers — clearing the app cache or uninstalling LingoMate removes remaining local preferences and AI chat history on your device.
Delete entire account
